Read this excerpt from Press Play, Record: "I recently received Sing Me a Song, a little 4-song disc of wonderful, mellow glitchy electronica from Japanese artist Taro Kawasaki, and I mean little: a limited-edition 3-inch CD with four gentle songs in less than ten minutes. With an emphasis on guitar and glitchy patches, Kawasaki explores a sonic landscape that is soft, supple, and innocent; these four songs are lovely little lullabies, and work well with those who are seeking a trip to the Land of Nod. If you're a fan of the Leaf label, Morr Music, or Windham Hill, even, you'll enjoy this little record. I definitely do look forward to hearing more from this young man."

Read this excerpt from Norman Records: "Televise have a cracking mini album out on the Drifting Falling label. We were so enamored with their last single we gave it single of the week! Ex Slowdiver, Ex Charlottes (worra band!) Simon Scott comes up trumps again with this post shoegaze, atmospheric glitchathon. This is well lush..... Why Ulrich Schnauss is massive and this guy isn't is a mystery to me. The layers and depth this guy creates in his music is really inspiring. He's also got a real keen ear for melody, chuck in some Fennesz style crackles and whizzles and you've got a thoroughly splendid CD. 'Sometimes Splendid Confusion' is CD only and if you're into pastoral sounding shoegaze (nugaze?) music like Epic 45, The Schnuasser etc you'll wet yourself when you crack this one off. Well tasty."

Read this excerpt from Norman Records: "Also on Drifting Falling is a marvelous CD by Matt Bartram from the band Air Formation. This is some proper old school shoegazing with hypnotic guitars... at times it's a bit rocky and there's a healthy dose of Spacemen 3 and Spiritualized in there. It's very uplifting and rousing, and I am rather enjoying the walls of guitars I can hear every so often which is taking me back to my misspent youth, reminding me of failed attempts at pulling miserable girls. Ah them were the days..... A really strong release if you're into shoegazing and to be honest I've not heard a duffer on this label so it's certainly one to watch out for..... 'Arundel' is CD only. "

Televise - Strings and Wires - DRIFTING006

01 Mezzo
02 Koto
03 Resonated
04 Perfect Sound
05 Fist
06 This is Whatever (Mole harness remix)

Read this excerpt from Smallfish: "This CD is nothing short of gorgeous. Televise have undergone something of a transformation with this work. Having started off as a contemporary guitar band with heavy shoegaze leanings we find ex-Slowdive member Simon Scott providing a whole new world of sculptural guitar sound. Fitting in perfectly with the likes of Kranky or Limit Switch, this 6-track CD is teeming with textural beauty and lush melodic components, each moment as delicate, yet robust, as it's possible to be. There's a dreamy, indefinable quality here that is infinitely appealing and coupled with the brilliant remix by Mole Harness that sits happily next to the other tracks with its processed and tweaked guitar sounds, you've got yourself yet another superb release on this increasingly excellent label. Highly recommended."

Read this excerpt from Norman Records: "I'm well into this Drifing Falling label. The 2 x CD we got the other week were ace (Cheer and My Kappa Roots). Here's a new CD by ex Charlottes, Ex Slowdive guy Televise. He's had releases out on Club AC30 and this is his new 6 track EP. This is totally lush and an instant comparison is the Epic 45 Drakelow EP in it's grandeur. The opener is a blinding tune making me think of of Fennesz crossed with Seefeel or something. In fact that goes for a lot of the EP to be honest… Fennesz style crackles and clever underneath things with Seefeel style warmth and melodies. Track 4 (Perfect Sound) is the total winner for me with it's double super twinkliness stylings. It's great. To top it all off there's a Mole Harness mix at the end which is just superb. A fantastic EP."

Cheer - Red Walk- DRIFTING004

01 Broken but Still Working
02 Rain in the Wind
03 Routine Cross Fade
04 Rockets and Blue Lights
05 Music for a Wooden Stage Play
06 Autumn Stare Out
07 Still Crumbling Faces
08 A Few Minor Mistakes
09 Twilight Milk Raid

Read this excerpt from Smallfish: "Following on from the absolutely gorgeous Benbecula Minerals Series CD we had from Alec Cheer last year comes this simply divine offering on London's Drifting Falling label. As a solo guitar album it's really quite exquisite and there's a wonderful balance between catchy, lightly folky instrumental numbers and a more sculptural, processed sound. That, for me, is really where this CD hits its stride... the longer, more densely constructed pieces are absolutely beautiful and really bring to mind the looped, hypnotic sound of artists such as Windy and Carl or even - possibly more pertinently - Jasper Leyland or Mole Harness. Whichever way you look at it, this CD is just brilliant and comes with a very high recommendation indeed."

Read this excerpt from Norman Records: "On the same label and not dissimilar we have Cheer with Red Walk. It instantly sounds more experimental with building sounds behind the finger picked acoustic guitar. The guitars Chime in a James Blackshaw style with many over dubbed guitar lines creating quite a hypnotic medieval trance like moment. Be good for ear phones this one as its got the stereo nicely working. No singing this time. The whole of Normans has just voiced its approval of this. He also uses his guitar to create ambient soundscapes. Very very nice indeed."

02 Narcissus Waits by the Water
03 Man of The Islands
04 Home-coming
05 The Burn Will Make Its Own Way
06 Fleeting Like Etain
07 Summer, You Dancer!
08 A Night Full of Reverse Birds
09 The Green Shelter
10 Heres To The Sun House
11 The Dour Festival

Read this excerpt from Smallfish: "We're really pleased to be able to bring you this lovely CD on London-based label Drfiting Falling. My Kappa Roots deliver a heartfelt and totally engaging selection of guitar tracks that range from folky, Nick Drake-esque vocal songs through to slightly more experimental instrumental pieces. Deep, airy and fresh sounding, these are tracks that have been written with passion, skill and a whole lot of love. You should do yourself a favour and check this out as it's gorgeous."

Read this excerpt from Norman Records: "Folk music from north of the border in that drifty James Yorkston, Alasdair Roberts camp. They're a retrospective bunch up there....some say deep, some say miserable... Very thoughtful and pretty acoustic guitar work with occasional smooth vocals. Sounds a bit Adrian Crowley, Smog. A full album of niceness on Drifting falling."

Oppressed by the Line- The Cause of the Colour - AC302095

Though this is not actually a Drifting Falling release, we're very pleased to add The Cause of the Colour to our online store. A precursor to the forthcoming "Soft Focus" this mini-album is a touchstone for many with the ability to simultaneously put a lump in your throat and melt your face off.

01 Fragmented
02 A Brief Moment of Clarity
03 A Painting of a Tapestry
04 The Fall
05 Even
06 Solieri Complex

Read this excerpt from Angry Ape: "Opening with Fragmented and A Brief Moment Of Clarity, both songs share the same mathematical approach as Far Away Trains Passing By, from acclaimed producer Ulrich Schnauss. Vocals are dipped in ethereal effects and reverb echoes, while deep synth basslines shake the speakers.

The instrumentals are where Oppressed By The Line truly shines. Tracks like Even are multi-layered with rich, melodic synths and lush atmospheric sounds. Church organs begin with click beats and gentle hip hop loops, before the crescendo of shoegazing feedback and dreamy layers of guitar distortion kicks in.

Too electronica based to be embraced by indie kids, The Cause Of The Colour will instead, appeal to fans of Ulrich Schnauss, Manual and Guitar."

Read this excerpt from Drowned in Sound: For a guy who says that turmoil could be his middle name, The Cause Of The Color sounds anything but tumultuous and haggard.

Instead, it's an electronic odyssey that revels in its own misery via an upbeat soundtrack that sounds like a 2020 Vision outtake with an almost Kurt Weill-esque overcoat. Opener 'Fragmented' is the even more downbeat doppelganger to The Field Mice's 'Let's Kiss And Make Up' while 'A Painting Of A Tapestry' is a disturbing electro distress call that is eerily reminiscent of some of the more disparaging moments of Joy Division's Closer opus.
