Read this excerpt from Smallfish: "This CD is nothing short of gorgeous. Televise have undergone something of a transformation with this work. Having started off as a contemporary guitar band with heavy shoegaze leanings we find ex-Slowdive member Simon Scott providing a whole new world of sculptural guitar sound. Fitting in perfectly with the likes of Kranky or Limit Switch, this 6-track CD is teeming with textural beauty and lush melodic components, each moment as delicate, yet robust, as it's possible to be. There's a dreamy, indefinable quality here that is infinitely appealing and coupled with the brilliant remix by Mole Harness that sits happily next to the other tracks with its processed and tweaked guitar sounds, you've got yourself yet another superb release on this increasingly excellent label. Highly recommended." Read this excerpt from Norman Records: "I'm well into this Drifing Falling label. The 2 x CD we got the other week were ace (Cheer and My Kappa Roots). Here's a new CD by ex Charlottes, Ex Slowdive guy Televise. He's had releases out on Club AC30 and this is his new 6 track EP. This is totally lush and an instant comparison is the Epic 45 Drakelow EP in it's grandeur. The opener is a blinding tune making me think of of Fennesz crossed with Seefeel or something. In fact that goes for a lot of the EP to be honest… Fennesz style crackles and clever underneath things with Seefeel style warmth and melodies. Track 4 (Perfect Sound) is the total winner for me with it's double super twinkliness stylings. It's great. To top it all off there's a Mole Harness mix at the end which is just superb. A fantastic EP." Format: CD-R |
